2nd International Conference on Industrialised, Integrated Intelligent Construction

The 2nd International Conference on Industrialised Integrated, Intelligent Construction (Madrid, June 9th 2010, Cultural Centre Eduardo Úrculo) is an event promoted by the I3CON, a research and development Integrated Project co-funded by the FP6 NMP Programme of the European Commission.

I3CON works towards developing concepts, building processes, components and systems and, services targeting a sustainable construction industry.

An industry that will be able to deliver high performance spaces providing added value to their users by allowing flexibility, adaptability in addition to well being and reduced operation and maintenance costs.

At the same time, the construction process will take less time and use fewer resources while being more respectful to the environment.

Free of charge and is subject to seat availability. Registration requests will be confirmed by order of arrival.

I3CON already organised a highly successful first international conference at the University of Loughborough (UK) with a focus set on the academy. The conference attracted a high number of delegates from more than 16 countries and generated interest in a number of leading-edge areas, resulting in a varied programme of paper sessions and workshops associated with relevant projects in the area and the ECTP (European Construction Technology Platform).

This 2nd International I3CON Conference is organised by EMVS (Spain) with the support of DRAGADOS (Spain, Project Coordinator).

The conference aims at bringing together professionals in the construction sector to analyse current and future developments along the building lifecycle.

I3CON project results and outstanding invited speakers from across Europe are intertwined in a stimulating conference programme that showcases a wide range of research and current fer-de-lance practices in sustainable industrialised construction, throwing light into the future practice of the European construction industry.

The conference features a varied range of top interest themes like:

  • Design and simulation tools supported by lifecycle building information modelling.
  • Implementations of advanced construction components (Electro-chromic glazing, Multi-Service Trunking System, use of façade-integrated PCMs, etc.).
  • Intelligent building systems integration, control and use of building information for maintenance applications.

Other Activities

The event will be complemented with a parallel I3CON results poster session and other I3CON technology demonstration activities that will be on display on the exhibition hall area.

The Hogar Digital demonstrator -a real scale Digital Home equipped with high technology systems- will be on show. It has been developed by Asimelec with assistance of the Madrid City Council, co-financed by Plan Avanza2 from the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
